Thieves not deterred by Rottweilers

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Suazanne Bedwell_Byatt of Sutton St Edmund woke up on the 26/02/08 to find her Hobby had been stolen by some very persistent thieves.  Her caravan had a wheel lock  fitted and was within 100 metres of her 2 family rottweilers.  Moreover the caravan was surrounded by 8ft conifer trees.

The thieves “ripped up, several conifers to get to it” and managed to avoid detection from the rottweilers.  The Hobby is blue and white and anyone with information should call the local police on  01522 532222 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Mrs Bedwell-Byatt asks “What more have you got to do to keep things secure?”  Well my advice would be a GPS tracker .  She would have been notified in the moment the caravan was moved and the police would have been able to track the van via GPS making virtually impossible to get away.

‘christ’ visits caravan park

The Caravan Cover Up Debate

Monday, February 25th, 2008

The question on covering caravans has been a hot topic for years.  The damage caused to both caravans and the reputations of the companies that manufacture the new generation covers stems from the old-style tarpaulin covers.

A common conception of a caravan cover is a bulky, plastic affair.  The reputation of such covers is rightly bad.  Plastic covers don’t allow moisture to escape from underneath the material and cause a great deal damage.  Moreover the material is extremely tough and often scratches windows and bodywork.
